Minutes: Present: Carol Vallencourt, District 1; Carol Studdard, District 2; Cahrles Van Zant, Jr., District 3; Frank Farrell, District 4 and Lisa Graham, District 5.  Superintendent Ben Wortham was also present.

2. Budget & Millage Review

Minutes: 

Dr. Copeland reviewed the 2009-2010 Annual Budget, Schedules of Assessed Value, Property Tax Mill Levy, Rolled-Back Rate Calculation, Recap of Millage Levies & Ad Valorem Tax Revenue and Estimated Expenditures.

Mr. Elliott briefly covered the Capital Outlay Priorities for 2009-2010.

3. Advertisement of the 2009-10 Tentative Budget and Millages

Minutes: Dr. Copeland provided a handout of the newspaper notice requirements and reminded the Board of the final hearing on the budget on September 17th.

4. Comments

Minutes: 

Mrs. Graham voiced some concerns in regard to the lack of "speed zone" signs at Orange Park High School and the danger to students crossing the highway on Kingsley and Blanding.

Mr. Elliott commented that Kingsley and Blanding are state roads under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Transportation, but that there is a crossing guard at the intersections of Kingsley and Blanding.  He offered to check into it with the DOT.
